David desperately tries to keep his family of six together during a separation from his wife. They both agree to see other people but David struggles to grapple with his wife's new relationship.
From the close-up that the film begins to the sequence shots on which the story is built, this is a powerful reflection of a rupture that causes a deep emotional shake, which also shows the children as victims of this separation. Clayne Crawford, whom we remember from "Rectify", masterfully transmits that mental confusion, perhaps too underlined by that "industrial" sound that replaces the soundtrack. The film maintains a constant tension that is resolved in a shocking ending.
