Interview, Audio: Miles Teller on ‘Thank You for Your Service’

Chicago – When Johnny comes marching home again, as the old song goes, we’ll give him a hearty welcome then. Most Americans truncate that to the phrase, “Thank You for Your Service,” which is the title of a new film featuring Miles Teller, who portrays Iraq War veteran Adam Schumann, and is the directorial debut of Jason Hall.

The film is about the lingering effects of being on a battlefield, and the lack of care given to the soldiers who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Ptsd). Adam Schumann (Teller) comes home from the Iraq War to his wife and kids, along with a couple other buddies from his unit, Will and Solo (Joe Cole and Beulah Koale). As they try to assimilate back to normalcy, Will takes his own life. This triggers buried war traumas in Adam and Solo, and they lash out in different ways against the battle fatigue and families.

Great Job, Internet!: The Footloose Twitter account briefly went rogue to attack Trump

As the sleepy little town of America is placed under the rule of fear-mongering, puritanical traditionalists, hell-bent on oppressing our dangerously liberal ideas and banning lascivious merriment of any sort, those of us who would rebel are only emboldened to collude in secret, to meet in a place where everybody cut, everybody cut, everybody cuts loose. And so it is that the Resistance has naturally formed around the 2011 remake of Footloose, whose official Twitter recently reemerged, newly awakened to its political responsibilities, and began to lead the charge in kicking off our nation’s Sunday shoes.

As The Wrap reports, the @FootlooseMovie account—which had mostly laid dormant since 2011—returned yesterday with a fire that went well beyond promoting Julianne Hough’s disobedient dancing. The account changed its username to “The resistance” and its profile photo to a picture of Hillary Clinton, then began retweeting videos and tweets ...

Dear Hollywood: 9 Top Women Cinematographers Who Are Ready to Direct
Here’s how studios say they see it: Sure, we really want to hire women directors. But there’s almost no studio movie that isn’t big budget, and we can’t find women who have the experience necessary to handle the really big movies. (Never mind Colin Trevorrow. Or Marc Webb.
