Nine years after the tragic events of Hell House, the Abaddon Hotel will once again be open to the public. Billionaire Russell Wynn has taken his audience-interactive show, Insomnia, into the abandoned hotel. Russell invites journalist Vanessa Shepherd to film an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary of the production. What she uncovers will shed light on Russell's true intentions for relocating his show to the Abaddon and the evil waiting to be unleashed.
Outside of the Hell House series, this would be a stand alone decent horror movie. But it had a lot to live up to with Hell House LLC being such the indie masterpiece that it is. This movie fell victim to the same demises many sequels do. Trying to hard to expand a story and it falls apart. I will say there are some thrilling moments, but not enough in my opinion. Spooky specters in the background, things going horribly wrong, the usual. The ending is killer though. I love the way they brought everything together. It seems they have set the way for the Abaddon Tapes very well. I'd like to see the original cast on those tapes, which I believe is where they were going. Overall a decent movie, worth a watch especially if a Hell House LLC fan!!
