However, a deafening explosion and the arrival of an enormous scaly and gangly creature will abruptly interrupt the festivities, as all hell breaks loose in New York City, and the Statue of Liberty is decapitated. As the reptilian behemoth levels Manhattan, a daring dash to rescue Beth begins, while at the same time, everything is recorded through the lens of a hand-held camcorder, amid mayhem and destruction. Goofs

When the main characters are caught between the monster and the Army's attack, we briefly see what appears to be a truck mounted with an MLRS pod launching missiles at the monster. There is no 'rocket truck' like this in the U.S. Army. The closest equivalent, the M142 HIMARS, does not resemble the one in the film. Moreover, each rocket from an MLRS pod would have been much more powerful than is shown, both in the impact and the blast as the rocket is launched. See more »

Don't believe the hype - They didn't hype it up enough...
29 February 2008 | by megacito99See all my reviews

Right, Let it be known, this film is f****n quality! Genuinely, i watched it with no expectations- the cheeky marketing of it revealing very little worked perfectly in my instance. The opening 5/10mins meets characters, and almost tricks you into a false sense of calm and normality.

When 'events proceed', the camcorder style filming instills a genuine realism to events, and the films definitely feeds off the mass concern and shock at global events/terrorist attacks/disasters, and the disjointed way news feeds through.

I will say no more but this- watch this film. Don't go finding too much out, just watch, and get taken to a place most fiction movies aren't able to transport viewers to. Intense has been said a lot in other peeps reviews its exactly that. Proper Rocks.
