Stubby Kaye as a food-crazy seaman
28 April 2017 | by See all my reviews

On a drill on the USS Appleby, Seaman Tubby Mason (plump Stubby Kaye, "Guys and Dolls") gets stuck in a hatch (doorway). Commander Stoner (Jack Albertson) is irate, and insists Mason be discharged. Stoner agrees to give him 30 days to lose weight under a diet overseen by Ensign O'Toole (Dean Jones). The whole crew is watching after Tubby, but he cleverly sneaks in food. He soon finds that it's up to him to restrain himself.
