Plot Summary

Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson has a lot going on in her life. Her parents, who don't yet know she and Fritz are engaged, come to visit; but, worse than that, having survived a recent attack by a serial killer, the police psychiatrist declares her unfit for duty. Chief Pope, forbidding her from conducting any investigations, orders her and Sgt. Gabriel to chauffeur a local TV journalist interested in doing a piece on how the police department is under-resourced. Soon after setting off on their ride-along, their car - with Gabriel, Brenda, the journalist and his camera operator inside - is attacked by a sniper. Assuming Brenda was the intended victim, Pope assigns two SWAT officers to guard her (further complicating her personal life), but evidence and a video of the crime suggests someone else may have been the target. Trivia This episode was directed by Kyra Sedgwick's husband, Kevin Bacon. See more »
Goofs You cannot convert an AR-15 to a machine gun with a $20 kit from the Internet. At one time, you could buy a sear that would fit in the receiver of a surplus rifle. Since then, the receivers are made so that an auto sear wouldn't fit. (Just another anti-gun myth from anti-gun writers.) Also, from the perspective of the story line, someone with a hunting background would neither use nor need full-auto. That's not how hunters hunt. See more »
