Viv has found love late in life, eighteen months after the dead of her husband, the lives of her adult children are thrown into chaos.
It's almost whimsical for the first half an hour or so, there isn't actually a great deal happening there, just some wonderful acting, and some very interesting characters. The last twenty minutes is where the action begins to happen, and it's very good.
What is astonishing is the fact that Francesca Annis is aged 74 here, she looks wonderful, and has retained her wonderful charm throughout her long career. A fine cast in support, Vincent Regan, Imelda Staunton and a buff Russell Tovey.
It somehow feels very relevant, and modern, I enjoyed it. 8/10
