A typical soap opera.

Where have all the beautiful images seen in his previous work, "promised land", disappeared? It is shocking how the same director can make a sudden change of genre from a heavy art film to a popular soap opera. I think it would be more believable if the film was directed by another director.

The scenario is also a problem, but the scene directing is inferior to the previous films directed by Takahashi Zeze I've seen. The actions of the characters are overly decorated and exaggerated like a morning drama.

Unlike the previous work that made me feel like I was inside a box smelly mart warehouse, in this film, even though main character plays that she is working hard on nail art for a living, all the sweat drops on her face are felt as makeup. It's like a fake glittering sweat from a youth manga. The TV drama style background music also makes the movie unbearable.

The previous films made by Takahashi Zeze so far have the power to make the scene look like a documentary-like reality, no matter how fictional the story is. But this movie doesn't have that power.

It is just an sunday soap opera.

The tide of life

You met someone when you're just a kid, you fell in love and it didn't work out. Sound very cliche? Don't give up just yet. Keep watching and you'll find something more.

Yarn interwoven stories of its protagonists alongside 25 years span. We will follow the tide of their lives and ask questions about our own lives, will we ever have a happy ending?

But as Rocky Balboa once said: life isn't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

Definitely 9/10.

Corny at best

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is stupid from both concepts and execution.

It brings all the cliche scenarios into one movie-two people are in love, but one of them has a serious personal problems and kept it to themselves until the day they part ways.

And then the movie keeps adding more and more drama clusters into the storyline from domestic problems, betrayal, illness, and even death, you name it. The man is so in love with the girl, but she's too stupid to see it and keeps finding excuses to runaway from him. Why?

I know it's the same in real life, but in this case, sometimes just just doesn't make much sense.

And i just don't get the perception in Japanese movies and series of the concept of being "success" or "reaching the life goals" is to be living abroad and get to speak English with foreigners?? Japan is a beautiful country with rich culture and so many people around the world is madly in love with your country. You don't need to be fluent at speaking English to look "cool". I watched the other hit series "First Love" on Netflix and it's pretty much the same thing. But at least First Love has so much better storyline and execution.

I like Nana Komatsu, but this is just a below average soap opera.

Very slow tempo but well presented about Japanese relations

If you'd enjoyed it, you must known Japanese well.

Throughout the movie music / artist used well much.

If you're fan of Miyuki Nakajima may also enjoy watching this film.

As pop modern culture of Japan enjoys January 10th as "Ito-no-hi" as day of string, vertical or horizontal tangle together as one kind of story to tell, good anniversary..

I am still wondering what I am going to do this year anniversary...

Hopefully you'll enjoy this film too.

Sorry I have nothing much more to say, but if you love cheerful love story you should keep watching until last. Last ending roll.

I would say thanks for reading review.
