I love this show but this doesn't make sense

I love this show but this doesn't make sense. Hannah identifies herself as Katharina Nielsen. Egon later meets both Katharina and Ulrich. I know he starts drinking, but how on earth did he forget what happened when Hannah, whom he also meets, claimed to be Katharina?
