    Sweeney Takes On Scientology
So what is Scientology...? They tend to keep a shroud of secrecy veiled around it's inner workings, but as more and more people leave the (and I say this with risk of being sued, smeared and defamed, if there are any scientologists on here) cult, their secrets are gradually being revealed.

This is an episode of BBC's Panorama hosted by John Sweeney. In it he has taken on the task of critically analyzing the ever-growing (in membership and dollars) cult of Scientolgoy. He interviews many celebrity members, the current head of the "church", and former members who have left the cult- and are now speaking out about its practices and their experiences after leaving.

The cult is known to practice spying, barratry, smear campaigns, and the use of information derived from auditing process to psychologically attack former members who decide to turn against the "church". In fact, these practices are widely promoted.

The corporate wing of the cult spends millions on copyright lawsuits to prevent their material from being published publicly. They claim constitutional protection as a religion but use copyright law to protect people from reading and critically analyzing it? If you ask me there is something a little bit sketchy there...

This short documentary hence provides a valuable look at this weird and vindictive cult. It shows how they hook people; how they keep them from leaving; and how they protect their interests- using the principle of "fair game". We also get to see who has taken over the reigns after the death of the infamous Ron L Hubbard.

You should watch this, if only to find out how the cult of Scientology really works. Arm yourself with the weapons you need to prevent yourself from being indoctrinated, if the situation ever arises....God Forbid! (blasphemy intended) Some of the famously indoctrinated Tom Cruise, the chick from King of Queens, and that douche from Saturday Night Fever.

Sweeney hilariously freaks out at the scientologist goon, who is omnipresent throughout their investigation. This was held against him by a multitude of parties (though, mainly the scientologists), but how can you blame him really? 6 out of 10.
