Storyline

Olive tells Chuck she knows (that is, she thinks she knows) Chuck faked her own death. When she hears a man named Lucas Shoemaker is dead, Olive hires Emerson because she thinks Shoemaker was murdered. When Ned touches Shoemaker, he tells Ned he was killed by John Joseph Jacobs and that Jacobs will kill again. He also says Jacobs died seven years ago! It turns out that Shoemaker was a former jockey, just like Olive, and that they, along with two other jockeys, raced against Jacobs in the very prestigious Jock-off 2000, in which Jacobs fell and died. It seems that his ghost is now out to kill all four of them! Written by Marco van Hoof <k_luifje7@hotmail.com>

How do they explain the horse that breathed fire?!
25 May 2011 | by MartinHaferSee all my reviews

Aside from never really explaining HOW the killer's horse breathed fire, this is a very good episode of "Pushing Daisies". The show begins with what looks like a horseman from hell killing a farrier (a guy who shoes horses). Out of the blue, Emerson is offered a huge sum to investigate the killing--out of the blue because Olive is the client! It seems she used to be a jockey and she cared about the dead guy and would pay to determine what happened. However, upon reviving the corpse, Ned learns that the guy was, according to the victim, killed by a jockey's ghost! When more folks also die the same way, Olive is worried--she has some secret that somehow links her to these victims. However, who the killer is is not who you'd likely expect...

Good acting, a pretty good plot and a weird back story for Olive, the only part of the show that confused me was how the killer made the horse breathe fire...I'm just saying.
