Hui Hou aka Destines is the first film so far that I've watched by skipping multiple times throughout the whole film. The problem with this film is the presentation style. How they present the story is so boring. I couldn't continue to watch after I watched for 10 minutes. So, I skipped every five seconds. I skipped 10 seconds and then watched for five seconds, and then skipped 10 seconds again. Throughout the whole film, I watched just like this.
Another problem with this film is that the dialect. The language they use in this film is indeed Chinese language, but it's not mandarin. So, it's very difficult to understand for me. I had the read the subtitle. Good thing is that they have both Chinese and English subtitles built-in. Otherwise, I might be completely lost. Still, it can't save the film.
Because I watched this film using the way I've mentioned in above, I admit that I don't know the story in details, but as much as I saw, the story is quite confusing and it's very boring. Maybe because of it's presentation style. Believe me, I really wanted to give this film a try, but I just couldn't keep watching because it's so boring. If they have chosen to present the story in the other way, I mean if they could do it not to seem like it's boring, yeah, this film might turn out to be a fine film.
