Storyline

The Original Fry Cook: Mr. Krab's old fry cook pays a special visit to the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is in awe of his predecessor, who has since become a world renowned chef following his departure from Krabs' restaurant. When SpongeBob tries to impress the impressive chef, he instead finds his fry cook skills are in question. Taking the chef's critique to heart, SpongeBob decides to quit - his beloved Krusty Krab deserves someone better. Without his employee of the month, Krabs is stuck with an overpriced chef that will charge him an arm and a leg to flip one burger. He must find SpongeBob and convince him to return to work-or lose a fortune on his original cook. Night Light: Tales of the boogeyman sends SpongeBob into panic. Every dark corner in his house could be a potential hiding place for the infamous monster. So SpongeBob invests in as many night lights as his house can fit, and even invites Pat over for a slumber party that's guaranteed to keep the boogeyman at bay. Written by NAS

It got funny
4 December 2017 | by See all my reviews

"The Original Fry Cook" while not a great episode did have a lot going for it. I especially loved hearing Patton Oswalt's voice! I swear there's never been a single voice acting role that guy's turned down. We even learn more about the history of the Krusty Krab. It's cool to see Squidward with a full head of hair and flowing too! I just think this episode could have had more jokes as it wasn't that funny. It was still pretty unique and I give credit for learning more about the mythology of the series. ***

"Night Light" is probably one of the funniest episodes I've seen in a long time. It features SpongeBob getting nightlights to keep away the darkness. The best part is probably how Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are featured in this episode even though they're actually not part of the main story, at least not at first. I don't know where this moth archenemy came from. I though theirs was the Dirty Bubble. It's great to see how things escalate with SpongeBob and Patrick doing crazier things to get light. ***1/2
