Secrets of Sulphur Springs is a mystery series that follows 12-year-old Griffin Campbell and his thrill-seeking friend, Harper as they uncover a secret portal that leads them to uncover clues in order to solve their town's biggest unsolved mystery and save a past child from going missing, never to be seen again.
When I first saw the trailer, which advertised the series as horror films, I did not plan to watch the films, but after reading several reviews and summaries, I decided to try the series, although still hesitant.
I have now seen the first six episodes and love the series! Each scene is full of suspense and action and the sets and effects are amazing! The acting is outstanding and the episodes are never boring. I did not, however, find this series to fit under the horror category. I am personally more sensitive to scary and horrorous films and did not find this series frightening. I would recommend for kids under the age of eight to watch with a trusted adult or family member, since there were a few scenes and concepts that could be scary for younger viewers.
Secrets of Sulphur Springs is rated PG for mild scares and concepts that may frighten younger viewers. In the episodes I have seen (Episodes 1-6) there hasn't been any inappropriate language or violence.
The show is chilling, mysterious, family friendly, and very different from most of the Disney Channel shows. It features impressive effects, great acting, and suspenseful time travel scenes. I recommend this series and am looking forward to the next episode!

I can't wait for season 2. Very well done. Good actors. Fun story but also tense and sometimes scary. It's actually quite an original storyline. It sucked me in and I couldn't stop watching. Such a cliffhanger at the end.
This seems out of place on Disney. I hope it doesn't get snatched to Disney+, but wow everyone in my household is waiting to see what happens next. The mystery and suspense is intense and they really set it up to continue to build. Not sure how long they can make it last, seasons wise, but man I'm ready for the next few episodes. Only downside of the show is waiting til next week. Louisiana as the background is beautiful and really add to the suspense. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. It does have some "scary" scenes that had my daughter turning away but for the most part it's not a "scary" show but more of an edge of your seat mystery thriller! Can't wait until they start to reveal some of the mysteries!!
Really liked. Especially because nothing was jumping out (like in Stranger Things). But it bothered me the characters were wearing sweaters in Louisiana in August. Have you ever been to the south in August? Nobody would be wearing a sweater! It's hot, muggy, and humid.
It's very familiar to the Dark's plot but way more relaxed vibe though, less stressful and actually interesting.

- TriviaAlthough the series is set in a purely fictional town, Louisiana actually did have a resort called White Sulphur Springs. The site is located about 10 miles southwest of Jena, Louisiana in LaSalle Parish and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The resort, built in the mid-1800's, was wildly popular before the Civil War. During Reconstruction it fell into decline and finally closed in 1911. Nothing remains now except the gazebo-covered spring itself.
