Goofs

As Will walks through the woods a large leaf of a subtropical plant is seen. The scene was shot in Georgia but it is supposed to be taking place in New England where such plants do not grow.

While reviewing the footage of the security cameras from the gas station, the vehicles around the suspects car change when they look at the footage a second time. The car out front moves two parking spots left and the vehicle beside the suspect vehicle changes from a blue SUV to a white truck,

When the Patrol Officer asks Will to step out of the vehicle, he is not wearing any seat belt but in the next shot from the front of the vehicle, he is again wearing the seat belt.

At some point between driving to the gas station in the opening scene and going to the police station, Will has had the time to shave his neck.

When Will is stopped by the police after kidnapping Knuckles, at one moment the gaffer tape gag on Knuckles' mouth is loose and flapping and Will tells him to keep quiet. When the police officer opens the trunk, the gag is tight around Knuckles' mouth again.

Although Gerard Butler notably slips in between an American accent and his Scottish 'brogue' accent throughout the film it is most noticeable during the police interrogation when he utters the line "Why are we wasting time here?" at approximately 33 minutes.

That's not a mistake. That's his accent. Nowhere is it said he wasn't a transplanted Scot. After living for some time in the US, he picked up some American accent, which slipped under agitation.

When Gerard Butler's character finishes filling the fuel tank, he removes the nozzle and closes the filler door without replacing the gas cap.

This is not necessarily an error. Many late model vehicles have a self-sealing filler door, so no gas cap is needed.

As the truck drives past Will as he's putting fuel in his vehicle if you look in the background you can see that the car wash sign simply says 'CAR WAS.'

That is exactly the lack of maintenance to be expected at a truck stop gas station. Maybe owned by the same people who own the HOT L.

Min 42 while driving you can see parking brake light is on. Moments later the Speedo reads 0mph while car is being driven.

The characters in this movie live in New England, USA, but there are subtropical plants visible that do not grow in New England, that do grow in Savannah, Ga where the movie was filmed.

When the fireman/EMT are bagging the charred body of "Oscar" after the barn explosion they are not wearing gloves but are touching the burnt body with their bare hands.

At 7:10 in the movie, at the gas station, you can see that the New Hampshire plate was simply placed over the Georgia plate, which was on the Cadillac XT5 they rented or purchased for the movie, which was filmed in Georgia. Just a lazy production error.

At the end of the movie at the parents house you can see the camera man crew in the reflection of the window. You can clearly see how the cameraman rushes off not to be seen.

In the flashback scenes at the dock at their house, the boat's registration begins with GA. That's for Georgia, as all boat registrations begin with the state abbreviation that they're registered in. And although many boats are registered in different states due to proximity and water usage/availability; there's no reason someone in New Hampshire would have a boat (which was docked on a lake) registered in Georgia.

There is no reason for the guy to keep the cops in the dark while he's trying to find his wife. That seriously reduced his odds of finding her or her body. Inconsistent with everything else about his brains and motivation.

When Detective Paterson is talking to Lisa's parents about the kidnapper he says "That is all we know at this junction." What he should have said is "That is all we know at this juncture."
