This is the first appearance of the Mystery counters, which are distinguished from the other counters by a white question mark. At the start of the game, one Mystery counter is on the bottom shelf and two are on the top shelf. When a Mystery counter crosses the tipping point and falls in the win zone, the contestant in control of the machine at the time wins a prize linked to the specific counter, and gets to keep this prize, even if they leave the game with no money. Should a Mystery counter fall into the win zone as the result of an ambient drop in Rounds 1-3, it will be returned to as close as possible to the point where it was before the drop (if the ambient drop that makes a Mystery counter fall into the win zone happens in Round 4, the contestant wins the related prize).
