By joining the fire department in this story, Homer has had a job in all three departments of emergency public services. He was a police officer in "Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge" and an ambulance driver in "Diatribe of a Mad Housewife".

Goofs
When we first see the video tapes falling over (after the first night Homer takes Nappien), we are shown Homer, Marge and Bart watching the tapes fall, but Lisa is nowhere in sight. In the text shot, when the camera pulls back to show that the tapes have been arranged in the shape of Homer's face, Lisa is suddenly between Marge and Bart.

The Best Simpsons Episode of season 19!

I'll keep this rather brief, but I think this is a great episode! It has a pretty basic plot (Homer becomes a Fireman and begins looting) but lives up to every ounce of its comedic potential! It has slapstick, as well as clever one-liners. As far as I'm concerned, The Simpsons isn't declining in quality if episodes like this are being produced!
