In preparation for making the film, the director went through dozens of hours of raw uncut interviews from Claude Lanzmann's iconic documentary, "Shoah," filmed in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of this footage ended up in the final film - courtesy of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, who acquired the footage in 1996. See more
