This is a short film which is a prequel to Fast and Furious involving the fugitive ex-convict Dom assembling his crew in the Dominican Republic to plan a hijacking of a road train gasoline tanker truck.
Heading back to the streets where it all began, two men rejoin two women to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert. When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Connor. But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.Written by
Ron Yuan suffers from vertigo. For the scene where his character David Park hanging out the window, the reactions on his face are natural. Director Justin Lin in the commentary said that he really wanted to get this scene done since they were losing the natural lighting. He jokily threatened to hang Ron himself if he didn't do the shot right away. See more »
When Brian is choosing cars out of the impound lot, he is seen choosing several Nissan GT-R chassis for rebuilding into a car to be used in the street race to work with Baraga. One of the cars chosen is an R35 GTR. As the movie takes place 5 years after The Fast and the Furious, this would be impossible, as the first GTR was not seen on US soil until 2008, two full years after the movie takes place. This continues into Fast Five - there is a GTR featured in that movie as well, however, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift takes place in approximately 2006, which is also after the events in both Fast & Furious and Fast Five. i thought this prequel to Tokyo Drift was actually not bad.it starts off with a real adrenaline rush.the racing scenes are pretty good,as are the chase scenes.the story was good, and flowed well.there are quite a few dramatic moments in this film and they all work well.most of the original actors form the first film in the series are back, including Vin Diesel,Jordana Brewster Michele Rodriguez, and Paul Walker.i don't think it was as good as the first film, but it was a close second.i added it to my collection, and don't regret it.if you're a fan of the series, you should like this one.for me,Fast & Furious is a well deserved 7/10
