Abby Morel is a bright, young editor's assistant living in the big city. Wanting to get ahead in her career, she makes an unusual deal with her high-flying boss, Susan. Susan is far too busy to date, but she wants to fall in love. Abby agrees to 'screen' dates in exchange for a promotion, and to add to the pressure, Susan is looking for the perfect man. After a couple of disasters, Abby meets Dan, who seemingly ticks all the boxes. The trouble is, she's starting to fall for him too - A promising career now within her reach, will she risk losing it all for true love?

Abby Morel (Natalie Dreyfuss) recently moved to a new city. She is looking for a job as a junior editor, but things do not look as promising as they should be. In the meantime, she meets a handsome man, with whom they have a lot in common, in a sandwich shop, Dan (Andrew Dunbar). She mistakenly takes the manuscript of a book written by his best friend, Greg (Nathan Witte), and they have to meet again to give it back.

When she is about to lose all hope for her professional life, a famous company wants to work with her. Her new job is unusual. She has to find a suitable partner for her boss, Susan (Carmel Amit). As a reward, her boss promised to promote her to a junior editor and let her suggest a book to the publisher.

After rejecting many men for the sake of her boss, she believes that the man in the sandwich shop, Dan, is the best choice for her boss. Meanwhile, she finds the opportunity to recommend Greg's book. Things get complicated when her boss tells her that she has a lot of chemistry with him, but Abby is actually felt in love with him.

Dan, on the other hand, is a mysterious famous writer who goes by the name of Dexter Hayer. He has doubts about his new book and let Abby read it without telling her his true identity. Eventually he tells her about his secret identity but he gets angry because she also has some secrets.

The publishing house threatens and blackmails Abby with dismissal and lawsuits to reveal the real name of the author Dexter Hayer. At the same time, they try to bribe her with what she craves the most.
