It was made very clear in season 1 that the reason that Wilhelmina cannot have control of MODE ever is that Claire is the sole owner of MODE so even marrying Bradford will not give her any say. As such this means that Meade Publications does not actually own the magazine though they do publish it. However in this episode and others Alexis and other officers in Meade continually override Claire's decisions. Such as hiring Wilhelmina which should be legally impossible. Never is it explained if Claire signed over MODE to her children as this would be the only way that her decisions could be overridden legally. See more »
