Storyline

Upon immigrating to New York from Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Eloise Sekongo divorces her husband Emmanuel of 18 years and now lives her truth as an openly gay woman. During this time, Nairobi discovers her love for fashion, creating new dresses for her mother each time she switches to her mother's house. We first meet Nairobi on her weekly parental transition day. We notice that her father Emmanuel Sekongo and her mother are not speaking. After hearing news of Eloise's successful first date, Nairobi congratulates her mother, wishing her "bonne chance" (good luck) with her new date. They end the night with music, wine and a fashion show of Eloise adorning some of Nairobi's most recent designs. Written by Djaka Souare
