Christopher Summa who served as both Director and Editor was given a Special Jury Prize for "Outstanding Film Editing" at the Klagenfurt Film Festival in Austria.
The film was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the First Annual South Bronx Film Festival in New York.
Although shot on 16mm film, "Waiting for the Passion" was one of the first films presented in High Definition at the "Media in Motion" film series at the Cape Museum of Fine Arts in Dennis, Massachusetts.
The film screened outdoors on a pier during the 1997 Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition Film Festival.
