Lindelof, on Tuesday, gave a little insight into the direction his series will take. Whilst being careful not to reveal too much he revealed that the series will be moving away from the graphic novel; expect new characters set in the present day.

“Some of the characters will be unknown,” he said. “New Faces. New masks to cover them. We also intend to revisit the past century of Costumed Adventuring through a surprising yet familiar set of eyes…and it is here we will be taking our greatest risks.

This time, it’s all about Bill Moseley and Machete star Danny Trejo, two long-time collaborators of Zombie’s who will be witnessing another bout of supernatural chaos come 2019.

This photo, which was originally posted via Instagram (h/t Bloody Disgusting), came bearing the caption: “Three amigos on the set of Three From Hell.” It appears that it was taken a while back, as well, as we know that production on the threequel has already wrapped,

Robert Rodriguez Might Be Working On A Project That Combines All His Film Franchises

Robert Rodriguez has often hinted in his films that Spy Kids, The Mexico Trilogy, From Dusk Til Dawn, Grindhouse and Machete all take place within the same universe, but he's never pulled the trigger in attempting to bring them all together. That may soon change, as the director revealed in an interview with Cinema Blend he might be doing just that in the near future:

I have [thought about that] very many times for different mediums. Yeah, for sure. You may see something soon! I've definitely been aware of the connections all the characters could have in that world, in their own range of kind of larger than life superheroes. I definitely have been looking at it in the comic world. There was a comic company that wanted to do something with me, and I suggested that very thing, and they love that idea.

A comic book sounds like the right way to go,

Hatchet Star Richard Riehle Boards 3 From Hell

Just when you think Rob Zombie has completed his casting spree for 3 From Hell – which, for those who don’t know, is the in-development sequel to The Devil’s Rejects – he adds yet another familiar face. And so, following the back-to-back addition of Pancho Moler (31) and Machete star Danny Trejo, 3 From Hell‘s casting docket is now full – or so it seems – boasting Riehle, Clint Howard, whose Mr. Baggy Britches is all set to become the second tortured clown of Ruggsville, Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13), Dee Wallace (The Howling, Cujo), Jeff Daniel Phillips (Halloween II), Dot-Marie Jones (American Horror Story) and Tom Papa, (who’s perhaps best known as El Superbeasto). Danny Trejo Peruses His IMDb and Reveals Why He Doesn’t Mind Being Typecast for Funny or Die — Watch (Exclusive)
In addition to mustaches and tacos, Danny Trejo is an expert on Danny Trejo. That’s probably why Funny or Die enlisted him for the second episode of “IMDb Me,” a new series in which actors go through their IMDb pages and recount their experiences on a cross-section of movies they’ve worked on over the years. Were you aware, for instance, that the “Machete” and “Desperado” actor has 353 credits to his name or that “heat” director Michael Mann told the actor he’d just delivered an Emmy-worthy performance after he saw his performance in “Drug Wars: The Camarena Story”?

Trejo shares several other anecdotes as well. “Don’t you think you’re being typecast?” the actor recalls being asked during his first interview. “‘You’re always playing the mean Chicano dude with tattoos.’ And I thought about it, and I said, ‘Well, I am the mean Chicano dude with tattoos!
