Storyline

The mother and father of all nasty divorce cases where the couple's house is divided by lasers and the wife cuts the pleasure boat in half with a chainsaw in the very first scene (while screaming hubby blasts warning shots with a shotgun from his end) leads to a murder investigation when the husband's girlfriend-on-the-side is found killed inside the house. But wait, there's more ... the guy who bought the husband's Lamborghini for 200 bucks (from the wife) is found murdered with his neck slammed in the door, and both divorce lawyers display incredibly greedy streaks which cause them to plumb the depths of unethical behavior. Quotes

Ryan Wolfe: You found the body, didn't you?
Nathan Atherton: When I thought my parents' divorce couldn't get any worse, I find the body of my dad's girlfriend.
Ryan Wolfe: Girlfriend? I thought that was your parents' trainer.
Nathan Atherton: Oh, she was. 'Till my mom caught them going at it a few months ago.
Ryan Wolfe: And your mother was... very angry about this?
Nathan Atherton: Not really. She was too busy with the pool guy to really care.

The Divorce Case From Hell
14 December 2007 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

Wow, do they have over-the-top obnoxious people in this episode, led by a ridiculous couple going through a divorce. "Nasty" doesn't cover it describing this couple, "Hank and Laurie Atherton," who are beyond bitter and vindictive. The problem was having to listen to these two jerks periodically during the show.

The couple's two lawyers are almost as obnoxious and annoying, too. Having to hear these four idiots - and others (like the "pool guy") - lessened the entertainment value of this episode. Although it was good to see them get their due.

Anyway, in a nutshell, several people connected with this couple are found dead and the CSI team has to figure it all out. On top of that, poor Eric Delko has to go through more b.s. as his competence is questioned by one of suspects.

It was fairly interesting but certainly not a likable episode.
