I really enjoyed this show when Chef Robert Irvine was hosting. He brought a balance of suspense (is he going to succeed in his mission or fail) and humor. When things would go sideways his exasperated expressions killed me. I liked watching his methods and the pointers he would give on why he was doing something and how he was doing it. It was especially helpful to see when something went wrong, or an item got burnt, just how he would fix the problem.
I like the new guy, Chef Michael Symon, but he isn't as much fun to watch. His fixation on pork makes me wonder if he doesn't own a hog farm somewhere. I liked the Kosher show because it showed he has the skills. But he hasn't taught me anything like Chef Robert did. I think that if they had to use one of the American Iron Chefs Chef Kat Cora would have been a better fit for this show. She makes cooking look like fun.
