Sex & Nudity

  • Mickey shows an interest towards Charlene and gives her 'the eye.' Late on in the film, the two are shown kissing passionately on a bed, They are interrupted by Mickey's family shouting outside.

Violence & Gore

  • Much of the violence takes place in the boxing ring. We see Mickey get pummeled repeatedly on several occasions, and he beats up quite a few opponents as well. The fights involve intense punches with realistic sound and imagery. These fights only induce cuts on the fighters (sometimes these are quite bloody)
  • Dicky and Mickey fight briefly, Mickey roughs up a man for disrespecting Charlene. Dicky has several violent outbursts that include hitting inanimate objects.


  • "Cocksucker" is used twice
  • Constant strong language
  • 150 uses of "fuck" are interlaced with nearly 30 uses of "shit" and a bevy of other crudities, ranging from "ass" and "dick" to "damn" and "hell". "Jesus" and "God" are each used about 10 times. Obscene gestures are made.

  • Smoking is seen throughout the movie.
  • Alcohol is used, and one character works in a bar.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film is essentially about a family and the problems that plague them. A few verbal fights ensue.
