an engaging and sometimes disturbing realistic look into the world of S&M
As a viewer with an extremely limited insight into the world of Sadomasochistic relationships, I began viewing this documentary with an open mind. We see Justin and Batman, two self-confessed lifelong practitioners of pain giving and receiving, talk about how important their sexual habits are to their lives. Other characters also share their similar passions, and then the documentary cuts to a scene that brings up any inexperienced viewers' concerns regarding how viewing such graphic acts may affect and influence said viewers' behaviors/thoughts etc. By the end of the documentary, I came off feeling like I had a better understanding of this world. The S&M acts, while causing intense squirming and cringing on my part, also conveyed a deep commitment to a means of gratification that left me bewildered and quite intrigued. With unique yet casual characters that somehow have an unintentional attractiveness about them, this documentary definitely earns any attention that is paid to it!
