Deadline reports that Woodside will play the angel Amenadiel, with Harris starring as Lucifer’s Los Angeles-based therapist and Gonzalez nabbing the role of Dan, a Lapd homicide detective.
The Lucifer pilot is being directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), with Tom Ellis (Once Upon a Time) taking on the lead role alongside Lina Esco (Cane) as Maze and Lauren German (The Divide) as Chloe Dancer.
The site describes the character as an “Lapd homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer. As they work together to solve a murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Used to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer begins to wonder if there’s hope yet.”
Tom Ellis (Once Upon a Time) is set to lead the cast of Lucifer as the titular Lord of Hell, with Lina Esco (Cane) portrating Maze. The pilot is being directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), with Tom Kapinos (Californation) serving as showrunner.
The plot follows Lucifer, who, after growing bored of ruling over hell, decides to abandon his post and head to Los Angeles, where he finds amusement in helping the L.A.P.D. punish criminals. The earlier version of the pilot script also had Lucifer coming to L.A., but instead of punishing criminals, he opens a piano bar dubbed Lux. This piano bar aspect of the story has since been abandoned. The character first originated in Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics,
The pilot is based upon the Vertigo comic book series and sees Tom Ellis (Once Upon a Time) as the Lord of Hell, who abandons his kingdom and heads to Los Angeles to open up a bar, as well as helping the Lapd to catch criminals.
The Lucifer pilot is being directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), with Tom Kapinos (Californation) serving as showrunner.
