‘Pottersville’ Review: Michael Shannon Is Mistaken for Bigfoot in One of the Worst Christmas Movies Ever Made
Here’s the only plausible explanation for “Pottersville,” a nearly unwatchable — but inexplicably star-studded — new Christmas comedy which is making a brief pitstop in select theaters before spending the rest of eternity in the storage room of your local Walmart: A veteran producer at the Hallmark Channel was at the end of his rope (for the purposes of this hypothetical scenario, let’s pretend said producer was “Pottersville” director Seth Henrikson, whose sparse IMDb credits leave plenty to the imagination). Frustrated by a career spent churning out festive — and weirdly horny — shlock like “A Very Merry Mix-Up,” “Matchmaker Santa” (featuring Lacey Chabert), and “A Boyfriend for Christmas” (the story of an infatuated girl who wastes her 20s waiting for Santa Claus to come down her chimney), he finally broke.

Some scholars argue that it was the 2007 Melissa Joan Hart / Mario Lopez vehicle “Holiday in Handcuffs” that pushed him over the

Collecting Saved By The Bell cast members in Christmas movies

Jenny Morrill Dec 9, 2016

The cast of Saved By The Bell have made a lot of Christmas films. And we've just watched them all...

Some people collect stamps. I wish I collected stamps, that would be infinitely easier than my hobby, which is collecting Saved By The Bell cast members in Christmas movies. Think of it as Panini stickers on ultra hard mode.

Sadly, my collection depends on the whims and careers of the various Bayside alumni. I'm not doing too badly; so far I have five of the six main cast members, and a few supporting characters. But the hunt for the missing actors takes up far too much of my time, time that could be spent watching Homes Under The Hammer and crying.

Here are the actors I have in my strange, fictional sticker album so far...

Your guide to this weekend's holiday TV movies

Your guide to this weekend's holiday TV movies
The season of holiday TV movies continues. Here are some options for the weekend of Dec. 12. • Holiday in Handcuffs (Friday, Dec. 12 at midnight Et, ABC Family): This 2007 favorite still holds up. Melissa Joan Hart stars as a struggling artist-waitress whose boyfriend breaks up with her before the holidays. Naturally, she kidnaps a customer (Mario Lopez) and takes him to her family's remote-but-luxury cabin so she doesn't disappoint her parents. • Let it Snow (Friday, Dec. 12 at midnight Et, Hallmark): Hallmark's heavy hitter Candace Cameron-Bure stars as a driven executive out to impress her father (Alan Thicke) by heading to

Sucks to Be You, Melissa Joan Hart

  • TooFab
Poor Melissa Joan Hart, man. Girl just can't catch a break, and it's probably got all to do with "Holiday in Handcuffs," the heartwarming holiday movie that you're most likely too ashamed to admit you love. See, Melissa went and hopped on the Kickstarter bandwagon, hoping to raise $2m for a movie in which she'd play the romantic comedy lead (since no one's handing these things out to her these days or anything), and needless to say, it failed. And it failed miserably. So miserably. The film was to be called "Darci's Walk of Shame," and even though the title is probably the worst thing you read all day long, it sounded like it might have had promise. The synopsis read, "an impulsive act has Darci face enormous hurdles to get back to her sister’s wedding and avoid her family witness her first walk of shame."Melissa's goal

Six alternative Christmas films

Get a different angle on the holiday season, with these six flicks

Santa Claus (1959)

Reading this on mobile? Click here to view

Don't be fooled by the utilitarian title: Santa Claus is less a biopic of the jelly-bellied gift-giver than a warped Christmas fever dream in which he happens to play a supporting role. The film's real star is Lucifer, who – angered by society's unshakeable devotion to Saint Nick – sends forth a horned demon to turn the children of Earth against him. Santa, hard at work in his orbiting space castle (don't ask) is powerless to help as the campy incubus schemes to corrupt virtuous little boys and girls.

ABC Family 25 Days Of Christmas Romance Featurette Previews Your Favorites

I don’t care who you are, or how much you may try to deny it, ABC Family‘s 25 Days of Christmas is on your list of holiday traditions. There’s something for everyone throughout the season, and many of the best holiday shows and movies pop up at some point.

Now, the romantic holiday fare that ABC Family has become known for may not be for everyone, but one thing is undeniable, if these (I think admittedly) cheesy flights of fancy are for you, your plate is full.

If you enjoy titles in the general genre made up by such entries as Santa Baby, Holiday in Handcuffs, or 12 Dates of Christmas, you have a lot of options coming your way. This may well be capped off this year by the potential King of all holiday efforts, The Mistle-Tones.

Now I hear your reaction out there, and no, these are

Pajiba's 10 Most Scathing Reviews of 2010

  • Pajiba
10. The Client List: Uh oh -- the Lo-Ho family is in financial straits -- hubby has a bum knee (I know because they've already it said three times), and the bank manager is a jerk. J-Lo-Ho flashes cleavage to try and convince him to help. I'm not sure how people are going to end up shocked when she ends up hooking. She's complaining about sub-prime loans -- gosh, Lifetime is so topical! My God, this movie is chock full of sexist stereotypes. Mrs. Tk has described it as "some of the most fantastically one-dimensional stereotypes I've ever seen in my television-watching life." She's not incorrect. J-Lo-Ho and her friends (the Skinny Friend, the Blond Friend, and the Black Friend) just spent five minutes complaining about how men only want sex. I've never wanted to Human Centipede three people more. -- Tk

9. Skyline: Skyline is perhaps the worst movie I

Holiday In Handcuffs - A Real Time/Video Review | I Have Lost The Will To Live, Simply Nothing More To Give

  • Pajiba
Fuck. You. Tracer. Bullet. You owe me roughly a billion beers next time I see you.

For some insane reason, I'm going to do this. Real-time reviews seem rather popular, and there is fuckall going on with movie news, yet Dustin continually cracks the whip and insists on production. No, he doesn't give a fuck about the holidays. A man who loves Ben Folds as much as he does clearly is a man without a soul. So here I am, alone in my house on a Monday night (Mrs. Tk is at work, blissfully ignorant of this impending disaster), half-drunk on Oban single malt, torturing myself for your amusement. It took me two rounds to steel myself for this bullshit. I'm not even gonna edit out typos. Fuck all of you.

I hope you all find live rabid scorpions in your stockings. Yeah, you Jews, too.

ABC Family Christmas Movie Promo Makes You Want To Cancel Christmas

Mario Lopez, Melissa Joan Hart, a Christmas story about kidnapping and wrongful imprisonment… Sure, let’s see what that’s all about. Here’s a promo for ABC Family’s Holiday in Handcuffs. First, let’s give credit where credit is due. Rather than just giving Melissa Joan Hart glasses for the whole “lady is attractive but looks terrible at first” trope, they went the Cheri Oteri SNL character route. That’s a new and unique way of doing that. Good job, Holiday in Handcuffs. Now, onto everything else. ABC Family ruined Christmas. I get that ABC Family holiday movies aren’t for me, but normally I can at least tell who they’re for. This, however, seems to be for no one at all. You can’t just pretend kidnapping at gun point is cute. Faulty Premise. Christmas is cancelled everyone. Go get your gifts back from that charity you donate gifts to.

Your favorite made-for-tv holiday movie?

Alright, so despite our love for Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Hopkins, Lifetime's 12 Men of Christmas (repeats Tuesday, 9 p.m. Et) couldn't compare to last year's Heather Locklear-Robert Buckley offering, Flirting With Forty. But with the Christmas TV movie season in full swing, it's time to ask you for your all-time favorites. I was reminded of a few of mine this morning when a colleague forwarded me the link to TV Tango's comprehensive holiday-themed programming guide. Tomorrow at 8 p.m. Et, Hallmark Channel is showing 1999's A Season for Miracles (pictured), starring Carla Gugino as an aunt who goes
