Red Pyramid is a full body costume that was blended at Roberto Campanella wrists, requiring only 25 minutes of preparation for each scene, as opposed to the three hours it took in the first film. See more »
At the end of the original Silent Hill, Sharon and Dark Alessa recombine to become a complete incarnation of Alessa, containing all parts of Alessa's personality and powers. This complete version of Alessa is the child Rose takes home with her, thinking she is Sharon. In Revelation, Alessa's multiple incarnations are still separate, and Sharon is shown to still be only the good side of Alessa, with Dark Alessa existing in a separate body. See more »
And I am talking not only from the fans of the video games and the first movie... Also horror films fans. OK... first we have to state something... this movie was not made to win an Oscar, or will bring the revolution of horror genre films, not, it's good on it's own purpose and market.
I saw the movie in 3D on the only advanced screening here in Mexico, it was pretty cool, pretty funny, let me satisfied and I don't know why the hell every critics are complaining about it...
Let's start, I have to admit it's not the best movie that has been made, yeah... the script is cheesy and the story develops in and incredible amount of short time, but it had what I wished for, as a DEVOTED fan of Silent Hill franchise, I saw a LOT of references to the game and other Silent Hill titles, as a fan of the first movie, it's a coherent sequel, maybe the story is obviously not the most brilliant, but come on! We are here to watch a 3D ride through hell aren't we? And that's just what we got, I felt as if I was high the entire movie! (actually I wasn't) the CGI and 3D are AMAZING, really, the visuals, as the first movie, are the best part, disturbing images and believe me, much bloodier that the first one... The acting is also good, it's just that I felt that the movie went so fast that we can't feel love for anyone but Heather (Adelaide Clemens has my 100% approval as Heather) the music is really good also, for the ones that are expecting to hear again a lot of tracks taken direct from the games, you will be disappointed, most of tracks are remixed themes from Silent Hill 3 & 2, but it works well...
Another thing I wanted to point is the 3D, really, don't judge the movie just because it's in 3D! it's amazing, the ashes falling and the otherworld shifting are just amazing coming out from screen
I would just complain about the cliché 3D scenes, of blood and stuff coming out from the screen, they are lazy, but doesn't make the movie sucks... and the length.... a lot of scenes, characters and monsters had a lot of potential but the movie was too short to develop
But I enjoyed it, a lot, was a cool acid like trip on the theater, really, not the best story, but actually felt like the 3D ride through hell they promised since the beginning ;)
Funny? Yes :) Scary? For Silent Hill standards no, for general audience yes :) Disturbing? As the first one... Good? IMO yes :)
& Yes, my account is brand new, not fake, and Open Road didn't pay me to write a good review of the movie, I created this account just to rate this movie and write about, only my opinion about it :)
For me, along with Sinister, the best horror movie of this Halloween season, don't miss the 3D!
