Producer Ian McCue went on to produce Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (1984). Little Princess voice actors Colin McFarlane and Maggie Ollerenshaw, as well as writers Dan Wicksman, Lee Pressman and Dave Ingham have also contributed to Thomas & Friends (on that show Colin McFarlane voices Beresford and Bulgy while Maggie Ollerenshaw voices Henrietta). Also, background artist Loraine Marshall went on to provide additional illustrations for the Mr. Perkins' Storytime segments and recording engineer Chris Renshaw took over as the main composer for the series during the twentieth season. Better than the books
7 October 2007 | by domenica-derosaSee all my reviews

I was doubtful about this as my children loved the books but I actually think the TV series is even better. The scripts are excellent and the voices brilliant. It can't be easy to adapt these slight (but rich)stories for TV yet it has been done brilliantly without any obvious padding. All the humour is still there with new delights added. The characters were particularly well drawn. I was worried that the Princess would seem simply spoilt but the magic of her lovable egotism is retained. The voices are perfect. I watched with a sigh of relief. It is a rare show that parents and children can both watch with genuine enjoyment. This is such a show.
