[Shinn and Athrun are locked into a fast and furious battle against each other...]

Athrun Zala: Shinn, you must stop it already!

Shinn Asuka: Damn it! Why am I... Why am I losing to someone like you?

Athrun Zala: You must stop fighting for your own past, because it will only hold you back!

[Flashbacks of their fallen comrades, families and friends as Athrun emphasizes his point]

Shinn Asuka: W-what are you talking about?

Athrun Zala: But yet, do you intend to destroy the future too?

Shinn Asuka: [Gripping his hands very hard at the controls] I understand. I understand that! But, that's why the world has to change!

[Shinn keeps on firing at Athrun as he recalls his war-torn past]

Shinn Asuka: Also, that's why Orb must be destroyed!

      Lunamaria Hawke: Shinn...

Athrun Zala: Stop talking that nonsense! Destroying everything like this... and even killing the future...! Is this really the world you desired? The power you desired?

[Shinn breathes in heavily, as he recalls the loss of his family, and the devastating death of his tragic lover, Stella Loussier]

      Shinn Asuka: But... but...

[Shinn goes into SEED Mode and charges at Athrun, intending to finish him off with his left palm cannon, but Lunamaria jumps in between them with her badly damaged Impulse Gundam]

Lunamaria Hawke: Shinn, stop it already! Athrun, you too!

[Shinn screams wildly as he has visions of Stella and Mayu]

Shinn Asuka: Stella! Mayu! Stop it!

[Shinn is too blind with rage, and is about to kill both Lunamaria and Athrun in one shot. Lunamaria gasps in horror, but Athrun goes into SEED mode and blocks his attack]

Athrun Zala: You're a damned idiot!

[Athrun then cripples the ZGMF-X42S Destiny beyond repair and sends Shinn screaming in pain as he falls onto the moon's surface]

      Lunamaria Hawke: Shinn!

[Lunamaria goes after Shinn in her damaged Impulse as Athrun looks on in regret]
