Storyline

It is prom night in middle America. Tuxes have been rented and dresses have been bought. But when the dead unexpectedly rise from their graves to eat the living, it's up to the geeks, the nerds, the outcast and the losers who couldn't get dates to the dance to save the town from the undead. Unlikely heroes will rise to the challenge as they are forced to put aside their differences and band together to fight for their lives. Armed with bats, sledgehammers, garden tools and guitars, this rag-tag group of high-school teens are in for a prom night they will never forget. Written by LG

This was a fun film
29 October 2008 | by subtlecreepSee all my reviews

This was a fun film and I enjoyed watching it. I'm actually really surprised to see negative comments about the film. I saw the preview a few weeks ago and when I watched the movie, it was just the kind of thing I thought it was going to be. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the movie.

The acting, the humor, the gore, the action - it was all balanced very well. The film never took itself to seriously, but at the same time never wandered off into the ridiculous. Some of the gore was just over the top enough to add to the humor and some of the drama was just serious enough to make some of the scenes touching.

I cared about the characters, I laughed, I was surprised by certain events in the plot - the movie was good. True, it wasn't Shaun of the Dead, but that movie was perfect and genius. This movie was fun to watch and seemed to be exactly what it was setting out to be. Everyone involved, from the writer to the director to the actors to the special effects guys did a great job.

I rented this movie, but I definitely plan on buying it to add to my collection.
