Storyline

Ned possesses the unique talent of being able to bring the dead to life merely by touching them. However, the person may remain alive only for one minute, or else someone else dies for them. A second touch will render the person dead again, unable to be revived. Through his connections with PI Emerson Cod, Ned revives his childhood sweetheart, Chuck. The trio, aided occasionally by Olive Snook, helps solve the mysteries of various murders, whose murderer is often surprising. Written by Mandy

Trivia

After ABC canceled the show at the end of 2008, the last three episodes of the 2nd season remained unaired until German TV-channel Pro7 aired them in March 2009. This means, the last three episodes of the show had their world premiere on German television and were not aired in the US until May 30th through June 13th 2009. See more »

Goofs

Ned is shown resurrecting parts of organisms, notably the pieces of fruit for his pies and individual leaves. This is completely inconsistent throughout the series, as Ned doesn't revive wooden furniture, paper, sticks and so on. Similarly he can revive the skins of taxidermied animals and bear skin rugs but doesn't revive wool sweaters. He doesn't eat pies made with revived fruit because it would rot again but food derived from other animal and plant sources doesn't revive. See more »

Come For The Pie - Stay For The Characters
19 January 2010 | by See all my reviews

Flawless acting, unique stories, and visual eye candy.

This has to be one of the best examples of what TV should (and essentially) could be if you put it in the hands of real talent. Everyone behind and front of the scenes is working grade A performances. Lee Pace and gang have never fit so perfectly in an ensemble using each of their unique talents to deliver some of the best dialog and storytelling.

The visuals are an obvious standout but leave it to Creator Bryan Fuller to not focus entirely on special effects and set design. Instead, he shows the value of great characters and character development through intriguing stories. And that, my fellow Daisy fans, is why this series works so well.

The biggest frustration, of course, is the cancellation. Why would a show this flawless get canceled? What does ABC have to replace it with anyway? It's just a shame.

I highly recommend you buy the series (BluRay is a must for those with HDTVs) and enjoy what you may never see again on TV. Come for the pie - stay for the characters!
