I first saw this film at the Sonoma Film Festival, and then again recently. The film-making is of the highest caliber. Consider that for much of the film, the rowers doubled as cinematographers, as well. What they gave the filmmaker was all he had to work with, and much it was shots of miles and miles of water for as far as the eye could see. Nonetheless, Luke Wolbach delivers a tight film that is at turns appropriately claustrophobic and sprawling. If "Into The Wild" was a documentary, this is what it might look like. Any parent who feels like his/her actions are not impacting their child should watch this film. I found it oddly empowering as a father. This movie will stay with you for days, as you consider if you'd take on this challenge, and if so, who you'd want to take it with. An exceptional feat of film-making.
