Bad first impression
11 November 2017 | by genmulvlxSee all my reviews

The only thing worth taking away from the episode is that Max is easily the most aggravating and annoying character in the show. The plot revolves around Ash and May arriving at Petalburg City. However, problems appear when Ash attempts to challenge the gym. We then meet Max who recognizes Ash from the Silver Conference. He does close to nothing but berate Ash for losing in the second round (of the championships for that matter) and bragging that he would have won if he was there. This goes on for the rest of the episode. The saving grace of the episode is May attempting to battle Team Rocket only to have Max take all of Torchic's attacks. Other than that, it's just very annoying, but the animation is good.
