As Thanksgiving approaches, Sandy is approached by the fugitive Kevin Volchock to negotiate a surrender for the car accident that unintentionally killed Marissa. Ryan finds out about Sandy's meeting with him, and tries to take advantage to get his revenge against Volchock. Meanwhile, Seth agrees to let Taylor stay at the Cohen house while Kirsten encourages her to face her mother to reveal the truth about her stay in Paris. Also, bad-girl Kaitlin meddles more in the conflict between Julie and Neil to cause more friction between them, while Summer also arrives back in town for Thanksgiving and is not pleased to see Taylor staying with the Cohens.
Now Ryan's shot to kill Kevin Volchok in Mexico was wisely frustrated by Seth, almost nobody is on real speaking terms anymore, yet ma Kirsten Cohen is determined to enforce a 'cheerfull' Thanksgiving, helped by Taylor, as compensation for smoothing up her ruthless socialite ma Veronica Townsend to confessing Taylor got married head over heals in Burgundy and indeed is declared persona non grata, so she hopes to be 'adopted' by Kiki. Meanwhile Sandy is secretly in contact by phone with a dubious client: Marissa's killer Volchok, who took Seth's advice to turn himself in; Ryan accidentally sees them and isn't satisfied. Summer is back for the holidays, but avoids their issues by dragging Seth to a soup kitchen and a bunch of homeless people back home; her dad is despairing whether Julie Cooper, whose dealings with Ryan he doesn't understand, will ever get over Marissa's death, driving her other daughter Kaitlin away. When Sandy takes a risk, putting his trust in Ryan, a new page is turned...
Thanksgiving! Julie and Neil have relationship issues, but she is unwilling to talk about it. Seth has a new friend. Julie is informed on the movements of Volchock.
