Trump Bashes Removals of ‘Beautiful Statues and Monuments’ to Confederate Civil War Heroes
President Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to condemn the removal of memorials dedicated to Confederate leaders in the Civil War.

“Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments,” he tweeted Thursday morning. “You can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson – who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!”

He continued, “Also the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!

N.C. Activist Who Helped Tear Down Confederate Statue Arrested on Felony Charges

Police arrested a 22-year-old activist who helped tear down a Confederate statue in North Carolina on Monday – following the deadly car attack at a rally of white nationalists and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Authorities said Takiyah Thompson tied a rope around the neck of a statue of an armed Confederate soldier before she, along with a cheering crowd, pulled it to the ground, CBS News reports.

She was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with disorderly conduct by injury to a statue, damage to real property, felony participation in riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 and felony inciting others to riot,

A group of North Carolina protesters tore down a Confederate statue on Monday in the wake of a deadly car attack at a rally of white nationalists and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, last weekend.

Demonstrators on Monday chanted “No Kkk! No fascist USA” before tying a strap to the monument in front of the old Durham County courthouse in North Carolina and pulling down the statue depicting an armed Confederate soldier from atop an engraved pedestal.

According to a memorial database, the engraved pedestal read, “In memory of ‘the boys who wore the gray.’ ”

3 Muslim Students Dead After Shooting Near Unc-Chapel Hill

Three Muslim students were shot and killed on Tuesday afternoon at their home near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. A suspect, Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, turned himself in to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office shortly after, reports Wral. Last week we got word that Canadian TV network Space had committed to a second season of "Bitten," their most-watched original series ever, and Syfy is hot on their heels with an announcement of their own...

Syfy has acquired the popular supernatural thriller "Bitten" for a second season consisting of 10 all-new episodes. Production on Season 2 will begin this summer in Toronto, and the series, from leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne), will return to Syfy in 2015.

CBC Announces 2014-2015 Pickups And Renewals

With the season coming to a close on CBC darling, Murdoch Mysteries, and new hitting recently that Cracked and Arctic Air will not be returning, CBC has announced several renewals, and a few new shows.

Murdoch Mysteries and Dragon’s Den are the clear no-brainers of the situation, but we’ve got a full list, plus some pretty hot new efforts.

Schitt’s Creek will be coming your way, a show co-created by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who star with Catherine O’Hara, and that ought to be all you need to know about this one. Also added to the schedule is new show Strange Empire. Reportedly a very dark show, it takes place in western frontier town and follows the women who find themselves stranded when all the men suddenly disappear.

Syfy launches its new werewolf series "Bitten" tonight, and Steve Lund, who portrays flirtatious and playful werewolf Nick Sorrento, sat down with Dread Central to talk about his character, his co-stars, and what's in store for audiences. We have the details along with a new trailer!

We asked him to briefly describe the show and Nick. "[It] is based on the Canadian novel series Women of the Otherworld, written by Kelley Armstrong, who is a Toronto-based novelist," Lund said. "The story centers around the only non-male werewolf, Elena Michaels, and follows her through her battle between her werewolf life and her desire to have a normal human life."

"My character is Nick Sorrentino, who is one of the resident werewolves at the werewolf headquarters, Stonehaven, and my family has been in the werewolf game for generations. My grandfather was a former pack alpha, and my father is sort of the accountant for the group.
