A reported find of 'two aliens' in a large vat proves the gruesome grave of human twin boys, Ryan and Matthew 'Matty' Kent, missing since years, burned at 300°. It's again the work of "the Gravedigger", a serial kidnapper-murderer who buries his victims and demands a royal ransom, no negotiation. The twins had not enough air to survive even if the ransom had been delivered as demanded, but after examining Matthew's serious fracture and stun-gun wounds, the team concludes it was a car crash, the Gravedigger was surprised by the second twin and has no larger vat available. Now the Gravedigger kidnaps both Bones and Hodgins from the Jeffersonian parking-lot, asking $8,000,000, well within his family's means. Zach discovers why the vat contains so much blood: Ryan severed his own artery with a pen, to give his brother more air and hence time. After Brennan has wired the phone into the horn, Hodgins states that he has figured out a message using only 8 keystrokes. Assuming he didn't count the Send button (he should, but they're low on air), the message still would be more than 8 strokes. The message is "6 7 16 M1.4"...since most non-slide-out phones require multiple presses to access numbers (or letters, depending on the phone and the preset text option), he'd be out of strokes halfway in (at least 6 strokes to even type 16...each space is a stroke); even if it split the numbers automatically, it takes 8 strokes to finish the many phones automatically go to texting when you power them on?

Honestly, the fact that the phone didn't even have to go through its start-up sequence is bothersome, but... See more »

EXcellent Episode!
15 July 2016 | by mitchrmpSee all my reviews

We are introduced to the Grave Digger, which will have some related episodes in the upcoming seasons. While investigating, Dr. Brennan and Jack are buried alive in her car. Booth and the rest of the team work non-stop to find them before it's too late.

Jack and Angela's relationship is officially confirmed in this episode. Both express their deep feelings for the other, expressed after Jack's life in endangered.

Booth holds back no punches when it comes to finding Bones. He threatens a man's life, tells the squints what to do, and doesn't give up even when it looks like they are too late.

I love the Booth and Bones relationship. Anybody who can watch this show cannot tell me Booth is not totally in love with Bones! The emotions, the expressions, and his prayerful thankfulness at the end is all the proof we need!

Booth's running in the dirt to dig Bones out is a classic scene. The looks they share after only adds to the sweetness of the moment!

This story line is going to get worse before it gets better...If you like seeing Booths and Bones fighting to save each other, you'll defiantly want to watch the next one!
