Having been trapped in production hell for what seems like an eternity, DC's Black Adam is finally getting ready to go-ahead, with star Noah Centineo confirming that he is prepping for his role as Atom Smasher in the comic book outing. As well as declaring his excitement to start work on the project, the To All the Boys: Always and Forever actor revealed that the plan is to begin production on Black Adam very, very soon.

"I'm gonna to be starting on the new Black Adam in about like two months. Hopefully if all goes to plan, which I hope it does. I'm very excited to do that, be a superhero which I've never done before, which should be fun."

Jesse Plemons cast in Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’
Game Night’ actor Jessie Plemons has jumped on board Martin Scorsese’s thriller ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’.

Plemons is said to be taking on the role of FBI agent Tom White, the role in which Leonardo DiCaprio initially signed up for before opting for the role Ernest Burkhart, who is the nephew of a powerful local rancher. Plemons also joins Robert De Niro as the strong-handed rancher and Lily Gladstone who will play the role of Mollie Burkhart.

The true-crime thriller is set in the 1920s and the story focuses on the Osage Nation were the richest people per capita in the world after oil was discovered under their land. And then they were murdered, one by one. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case and unravelled a chilling conspiracy and one of the most monstrous crimes in American history.

‘The Hunt’ Director Craig Zobel Sets New Sci-Fi Thriller at New Line
The Hunt” filmmaker Craig Zobel has set his next project: he will direct a currently untitled sci-fi thriller at New Line Cinema, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the original script, and Andrea Berloff (“Straight Outta Compton”) wrote the most recent draft. The logline is being kept under wraps.

Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo will produce, while Scott Sheldon will executive produce and Shelby Thomas will oversee for FlynnPictureCo. Flynn recently produced “Red Notice” starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, as well as Disney’s “Jungle Cruise,” also starring Johnson.

Zobel most recently directed all seven episodes and serves as executive producer on the upcoming HBO limited series “Mare of Easttown” starring Kate Winslet.

The Hunt” was released early last year, and his other credits include “Z for Zachariah” and the indie thriller “Compliance.”

Jesse Plemons has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Killers of the Flower Moon” is based on David Grann’s book of the same name and is set in 1920s Oklahoma. The film depicts the serial murders of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation — a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro star in the film, which is set at Apple. Plemons is set to take on the role of Tom White, the lead FBI agent investigating the murders, which was the role DiCaprio was originally going to play before he stepped to a secondary lead role.

Marwan Kenzari is in final negotiations to join the cast of New Line/DC’s highly anticipated “Black Adam” film starring Dwayne Johnson, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

Although details about Kenzari’s role are being kept under wraps, an insider with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap Kenzari is playing the villain. It was previously announced that Aldis Hodge has been cast as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone are members of the Justice Society. Sarah Shahi has also been cast as Adrianna Tomaz.

Young Rock,” an upcoming NBC comedy about the formative years of Dwayne Johsnon, continues to round out its ensemble.

Actor Lexie Duncan has been cast as a high-school sweetheart for the superstar during his teens, where she will play opposite Bradley Constant (the 15-year-old version of Johnson).

She’s set to play Karen, a popular, charismatic, high-school girl with dreams of attending Barbizon beauty school. Constant’s character catches her eye, and they begin dating in the idyllic town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Duncan, who hails from musical theater and marks her primetime debut in this role, is repped by Luber Roklin, Active Artists Management and The Initiative Group.

The series comes from Johnson’s company Seven Bucks and “Fresh Off the Boat” creator and executive producer Nahnatchka Khan, who wrote the pilot with collaborator Jeff Chiang.

Actress Quintessa Swindell is the latest recruit to join the action-adventure thriller featuring Dwayne Johnson as the titular DC Comics anti-hero.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Swindell, better known for starring in Netflix’s 'Trinkets' and HBO series 'Euphoria' has landed the role of Justice Society member, Cyclone.

Johnson, 48, confirmed the news by sharing a congratulatory message on his Instagram handle saying, “Ready to rumble. My pleasure to officially welcome, @q.uintessa to our Black Adam cast."

Trinkets” star Quintessa Swindell will portray the superhero Cyclone opposite Dwayne Johnson in New Line and DC Comics’ “Black Adam.”

Cyclone is a junior member of the Justice Society with the power to manipulate wind and sound. Aldis Hodge has been cast as Hawkman and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher — both members of DC’s Justice Society. Sarah Shahi has also been cast as a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in the fictional nation of Kahndaq.

Jaume Collet-Serra, who directed Johnson alongside Emily Blunt in Disney’s “Jungle Cruise,” is directing “Black Adam.” Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the latest draft of the script, and Adam Sztykiel wrote a previous version.

Johnson has been attached to play the anti-hero Black Adam for several years. The film takes place in the same DC Universe as Warner Bros. and New Line’s “Shazam!” starring Zachary Levy, which grossed $365 million worldwide last year.

Disney will move some of its latest live-action remakes of animated classics to Disney+, including “Pinocchio” starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis and “Peter Pan & Wendy” starring Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell.

Other features that will debut as Disney+ originals include “Sister Act 3,” a new “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” film, “Disenchanted” — the sequel to “Enchanted,” for which Amy Adams has been announced to return — and a live-action and animated hybrid “Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers” starring John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as the voices of the titular chipmunks.

Release dates have not yet been revealed.
