My favorite Pilot of all TV shows
muraliavarma12 July 2009
This pilot had everything that the show had to offer, all summarized into a 1 hour capsule. That in my book is the perfect Pilot episode. The first few minutes are scintillating, with the radio show discussing about what the new coach(Eric Taylor) has to offer. After this we see an interview where all the football players are introduced. I found both of this to be extremely effective ways of introducing all the characters without making it look clichéd.

But, the best part of the first half of the show was the absolutely stunning soundtrack from Explosions in the Sky. The background music perfectly suits the theme of the series, the touching moments, the passion during the game and most of all during Coach Taylor's inspirational pep talks.

The twist at the end of the Pilot sets up the whole series beautifully Some of the characters undergo massive transformations, some happy, some sad. All in all, my favorite episode mostly because I like to think how the series would have evolved if it had not been for that major twist in the episode...

It takes multiple times watching this episode to understand it's greatness

This is my 3rd time watching this show all the way through, and you realize each time more and more how fantastic this episode is. When you watch it the first time, you don't have the emotional connection to the characters yet, so ti doesn't hit as hard. Where this time around, the last 15 minutes were gut wrenching. This pilot sets up the show for what turns out to be an incredible series, probably one of the most underrated ones I've ever seen.

I have to say after just watching the Movie Friday Night Lights, that this Pilot was a very worth successor to that Amazing film. I won't spoil any of it but it was time well spent with a very well-done introductory episode about the passion of Texas....FOOTBALL and Particularly....

Friday Nights Lights!

A gem, that's what this tv show is.

Watched 5 episodes of season 1, 22 episodes per season in 2022 is "scary"; it's not the norm anymore but this show makes you miss the old days.

Doesn't feel like i'm watching a show that premiered in 2006, it has a type that never gets old.

I got attached to the characters by the second episode, there's something unique about the adrenaline you get from watching friday night lights. Actually, you go through every emotions possible because the cast is on another level!

I was like.. why have I never watched this before? Never heard about it, to be honest. But damn, how ecstatic I am to finally find an epic show nowadays.

Friday night lights in 5 episodes only, is in my top 10 ever, means a lot.

Are all episodes as predictable as the first episode
thuguelet26 July 2022
I had this show on my to watch list for a while. Finally sat down to watch the first episode last night and the ending was so obvious that it annoyed me. I don't want to give out any spoilers, but I am pretty sure you will see exactly how the episode will play out. Before I invest more time on this show, are all the episodes so formulaic and predictable?
