Ant-Man and the Wasp director won’t rule out popular Avengers 4 plot theory

As with Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios is doing a very good job of keeping plot details for next year’s as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 well under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped a number of fan theories sprouting up based upon the few set photos that we saw during production.

Perhaps the main theory, which we won’t go into too much detail here in case it’s right, suggests that the surviving members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be embarking on a journey through time in an effort to undo the devastation caused by Thanos.

This is of course unconfirmed at present, but when asked about the theory, Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed refused to rule it out:

“Based on the science that we’ve set up in [Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp], I won’t rule out the possibility,” Reed tells The Huffington Post. “Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex.

11 Casting Decisions That Hurt The Avengers Movies (And 12 That Saved Them)

It’s hard to believe now, but before the first Avengers movie hit screens in 2012, it was a risky proposition.

The movie was a huge hit, stealing the thunder from the final instalment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, crowding theaters, filling Disney’s coffers, and leaving every other studio scrambling to make their own cinematic universe that could culminate in a crossover movie event.

Focusing on financial returns ignores a crucial element of the McU's success: every bit of talent is carefully vetted, wooed, and assembled.

It’s not just about getting the best writers or directors or stars, it’s also about getting ones that can, for better or worse, pull off Marvel’s mission.

It goes without saying that the actors who lead their own franchises — Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chadwick Boseman — have made the Avengers movies what they are.

However, not every

Fantastic Four Writer Apologizes For Making Such A Bad Film

It’s hard to think of another film with so much potential that bombed so hard. 2015’s Fantastic Four was meant to attract a new generation of viewers by cashing in on the superhero craze brought about by The Avengers, whilst still telling an original tale.

The idea was this: the 2005 effort had nailed the aesthetics, but completely dropped the ball with regards to everything else like tone and character motivations, especially as they were depicted in Jack Kirby’s original run. Thus, the solution was to ground the story in a hard science fiction setting in order to synthesize two visions: Kirby’s space opera take, and the more modern version of the characters from the Ultimate comics.

Given everyone’s love for Interstellar the year before, it seemed like a good idea. And it was, until it actually began to take shape. Sitting with a pathetic 9% on Rotten Tomatoes

The Avengers Had A Better Shot At Beating Thanos Than Winning The Lottery

Destroying Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War was apparently really hard to do, as Doctor Strange rattled off a number that ran through just how many scenarios they failed before they managed to beat him. Hilariously enough, CinemaSins recently pointed out that number is still drastically lower than what it would take to win the Powerball Jackpot:

The Avengers faced 20X better odds against Thanos than people hoping to win the Powerball jackpot.

— cinemasins (@cinemasins) August 12, 2018

You might just want to toss that lottery ticket in the trash. Either that, or Marvel should've had Benedict Cumberbatch rattle off a much higher number to make Thanos sound more impressive? Either way, I'm not sure I ever want to play the lottery again.

The Russos say Captain America and Black Widow will have a “harder edge” in Avengers 4

The directors of Avengers: Infinity War, Anthony and Joe Russo, have revealed that Captain America and Black Widow will demonstrate a “harder edge” in Avengers 4.

While some fans might have been hoping to see a little more of Captain America and Black Widow in Avengers: Infinity War – something that was difficult thanks to the massive cast involved – there’s no denying that the two were depicted as the grizzled veterans that they are.

This trend is set to continue in Avengers 4 and the Russos have told Wired that the two characters will be even tougher when the time comes: “In Winter Soldier, what we found so compelling about pairing [Black Widow] up with Captain America was that he is a service paragon of morality and she is a paragon of gray,” said Joe Russo. “But they’ve grown together and I think when you find them in this movie and

The Avengers Stood A Better Chance Of Beating Thanos Than Winning The Powerball

At 14,000,605/1, few expected Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stand much of a chance against Thanos.

Per Doctor Strange’s gloomy prediction, our heroes needed something truly special if they were to emerge victorious, and we’ll have to wait until Avengers 4 arrives next year before we have a tangible and (hopefully) satisfying answer to the Infinity War cliffhanger.

Until that day arrives, though, budding fans continue to pore over every inch of Joe and Anthony Russo’s ensemble piece in the search for story clues, continuity errors, and possible Easter eggs and callbacks to McU past. This latest tidbit is not so much an Easter egg as a well-thought-out observation though, and it comes to us by way of CinemaSins, the popular (and somewhat contentious) YouTube channel famed for its in-depth breakdowns of major Hollywood films.

Its crunched the numbers to reveal that, based on Strange’s prophecy, Earth’s

9 of the Best Marvel Comics Jokes in ‘The Venture Bros’

  • The Wrap
Few shows have the depth of pop culture knowledge — and ruthless willingness to parody it — that “The Venture Bros.” does. This is especially true for comic books generally, and in particular the Marvel Comics universe.

“The Venture Bros.” is full of references, parodies and straight up jokes about the House of Ideas. There’s even a two-episode joke about the very first Marvel Comics issue from 1939. Here are nine of our favorite Marvel references from the seven seasons of “The Venture Bros.” so far.

Howard the Duck almost made an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War

After popping up in Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel, it turns out that Howard the Duck almost made his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this year, with Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealing to Fandom that he came close to making a cameo appearance in this year’s superhero epic.

Howard the Duck was in one draft of the script,” said Anthony. “Howard the Duck actually had a really good scene… we were going to cameo with [The Hangover and Community star] Ken Jeong, with Howard the Duck. That was a much-beloved scene by us but it just didn’t end up fitting at all.”

“It was Peter Quill trying to track down some information from Howard the Duck on some outlier planet and interrupting him during a poker game,” explained Joe.

“There were lots of ideas and iterations that were on the

Thor's Roommate Darryl Survived Thanos' Infinity War Snap

Thor's Roommate Darryl Survived Thanos' Infinity War Snap
We have yet another confirmation of someone who survived the deadly events of Avengers: Infinity War. One of the most delightful byproducts of Thor not participating in Captain America: Civil War was the fact that we got the Team Thor shorts, which feature the God of Thunder and his exploits with his human roommate Darryl. Now, we have word that Darryl escaped Thanos' deadly finger snap with his life.

The news comes directly from actor Daley Pearson, who plays Darryl in the Team Thor shorts. Chris Hemsworth recently celebrated his birthday and Pearson posted a video to his Twitter account, in character as Darryl, to honor the occasion. At the beginning of the video, he reveals that Thor's roommate did indeed survive, though, that has brought with it it's own set of problems.

"Good news. Daryl survived the snap. Bad news, a lot of my coworkers didn't, so I'm working Sundays.

Thor’s old roommate Darryl Jacobson survived The Snap from Avengers: Infinity War

With Thanos wiping out half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War, the fate of many beloved supporting players in the McU was left up in the air when the credits rolled on April’s superhero epic.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have already discussed whether a number of characters survived ‘The Snap’ – including the likes of Howard the Duck, Aunt May, Lady Sif and Betty Ross – and now fans of Thor’s former roommate Darryl Jacobson can breathe a sigh of relief.

Darryl – or rather actor Daley Pearson – has shared a video to Twitter to wish Thor (and Chris Hemsworth) a happy birthday, during which he reveals that he was spared by the Mad Titan, but he’s been having to work a lot of weekends lately as many of his colleagues weren’t so fortunate…

Speaking on the director’s commentary for the Marvel superhero epic, director Joe Russo has revealed that the creative team discussed a number of options as to how Thor could obtain his new weapon Stormbreaker, before finally settling upon the character of Eitri, played by Game of ThronesPeter Dinklage.

“We explored a lot of different ideas of where Thor could go for that weapon,” said Russo. “We even had versions of the story at one time where he was going to visit this sort of ghost of his dead grandfather – which was one version we were playing with that we didn’t end up using. I
