Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. casts Craig Parker as a “formidable” alien

TV Line is reporting that Craig Parker (Legend of the Seeker, Reign) has signed on for a guest role in the fifth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

According to the site, Parker will make his debut towards the end of season 5 and is set to portray Taryan, who is described as “a formidable wheeler-dealer from another planet”. At this point, it’s not clear whether he’ll be a friend or foe to Coulson and company.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has cast onetime Legend of the Seeker baddie Craig Parker in the role of Taryan, a formidable wheeler-dealer from another planet.

Parker will debut on the ABC series toward the end of Season 5. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues its season this Friday at 9/8c, with Episode 14 of 22.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is making this an autumn to remember for Fede Alvarez fans. In addition to releasing Don't Breathe on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD this November, the company is also unleashing Evil Dead Unrated on digital avenues beginning October 25th (as initially reported by Bloody Disgusting), giving viewers the chance to watch five minutes of footage from 2013's Evil Dead that was too extreme for the big screen.

From the Press Release (via Why So Blu?): "Also from Director Fede Alvarez, Evil Dead Unrated will be available on digital platforms on October 25, just in time for Halloween. Fans will be able to see Fede’s unedited vision for the film with five additional minutes that were too intense for theaters. This also marks the first time Digital Extras will be available on Evil Dead."

Rise: CW Develops Martial Law Drama from Vampire Diaries Team

With The Vampire Diaries approaching its eighth and final season, co-creator Julie Plec, and co-executive producers Chad Fiveash and James Patrick Stoteraux are developing Rise, a new series for The CW and Warner Bros. Television. Deadline reports Rise is a martial law drama, set after a terrorist attack. The trio first worked together on teen sci-fi drama, Kyle Xy, which was cancelled after three seasons on ABC Family (now Freeform), in 2009.Fiveash and Stoteraux went on to Legend of the Seeker, which was cancelled in 2010, after two seasons in first-run syndication; Glory Daze, which was cancelled after one season on TBS; and Switch at Birth, which too has been cancelled. Its fifth and final season will premiere on Freeform in January.
