Sex & Nudity

- A man is raped by a woman in season 4. It's very disturbing.
- A 7 year old child is molested.
- There is a sense of peril in sexual scenes from the first episodes, for instance a woman being thrown on a bed by an assailant whose intentions are unclear. I do not recommend any part of the series to people who are sensitive to the threat of sexual violence.
- Several scenes with female full frontal nudity
- Some episodes have sex scenes (straight, but also sometimes gay, lesbian, bisexual) nudity isn't explicit for most scenes.
- Sexual references/dialogue throughout.
Violence & Gore

- A cat is killed and decapitated. These acts aren't shown, however the viewer does briefly see the bloody aftermath.
- A dog is hit and kicked.
- The violence and gore in True Blood is quite graphic and quite brutal and violent at times, however it is quick and brief. This applies to the IMAX theatrical prints.
- Multiple scenes of violence are shown, including: beheadings, stakings, disembowelments, throat-rippings, dismemberments, and many more.

- Vampire blood is a drug to humans. It works as a hallucinogen to humans. It also gives humans temporary super-strength and heightened senses.
- Several characters drink heavily, and smoking is shown as well
- Some characters smoke Marijuana at times.
- One of the characters is a drug dealer and takes different kinds of drugs.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- There is sexual assault/discussion of assault a few times during the series. In Season 3 a female character is assaulted but the act is not shown. In Season 4 a man is a graphically raped by a woman.
