The bird lady sculpture that Sam Merlotte stole from Maryann was made in 3 days. 2 other copies were made and kept on standby. Cindy Jackson didn't mind because she was used to tight deadlines after designing toys for Happy Meals. She did it in her kitchen after her studio was demolished by a wayward driver. The sculpture was a bird lady because it best reflected Maryann's nature, which is why Michelle Forbes performed many scenes with her arms up in the air; she's supposed to be communing with her god. A general issue throughout the series is that Bill allowed Sookie to be beat and subsequently gave her his blood the night they met. Those events actually happened the next night, the second night they knew each other. See more »

I know this horse has been thoroughly beaten, however I sat down last night and watched the first two episodes of True Blood. Have the directors ever spoken with anyone who lives in Louisiana? The actors sound as if they have a horrible hackneyed stereotypical "just flew in from the mountains of Tennessee" accent. Come on!!! I review video games for a living, the voices in True Blood would be considered CRAP for a video game for crying out loud!!There are certain games which are great, but become almost unplayable due to this...True Blood teeters perilously on this ledge. Leaving the characters accent neutral would've been more acceptable. I hope things improve in later episodes. Next, the "Rome" treatment regarding sex. The massive amount of non-plot related sex scenes in the otherwise fantastic "Rome" made the series unintentionally laughable. Thankfully it was toned down in later episodes of that series. Hopefully this is done in True Blood. Not being puritanical here, however most viewers don't need this kind of red meat to watch the series, no pun intended. It's just lazy, male and female characters, particularly vampires, are extremely sexy with their clothes ON, and can be portrayed as such...come on folks, try a little harder with the seduction? So far, episodes 1 and 2 seemed to be a treatise on white trash mating habits, with poor, sexy vampire Bill finally allowed to be incredibly sexy in the last 15 minutes of the second episode..with his clothes ON....
