The teacher from an elementary school, the director, the janitor and parents are gathered to discuss a taboo: What to do when drugs are found in a classroom of 10-year-old children? A parents' meeting will discuss such taboo in a very unconventional way: having a joint.Written by
I have a lot of prejudice on films dealing with this theme. This is the reason Quarta B was a good surprise: it is not self indulgent or pamphleteer. It is not a great movie. It is not a film that will change movie history. It is, though, very funny and focus on human interaction and motivations. It's main contribution is to approach such a taboo theme with no compromise and excellent humor. It brings both pros and cons about the hairy situation the characters face on the very beginning. The whole situation is somewhat absurd. A kind of Buñuel plot filmed in one single place. Soundtrack is curiously well chosen. One should pay attention to the man on a suit and on the School Principal.
