Storyline

As a valuable employee with solid customer feedback and no sick days, Jane is confident that she'll get a good evaluation. So when Stella puts her back on probation and freezes her income, Jane decides it's time to seek out Mr. Walker and explore her options. It's been six months since Jane turned down an offer by Mr. Walker. Now the publisher has started his own underground press and he wants Jane to be the managing editor. It's less pay than she's making at Spirits - but she'd be working on the front lines of the indie scene. Meanwhile, long-suffering Walton decides it's time to cross the great divide if he's ever going to win Jane's love. For Jane, he'll become a plant-eating liberal, support universal health care, and oppose factory farms. But when he gets the devastating news that Jane's leaving Spirits because of a bad evaluation, he realizes it's time to put his money where his mouth is.
