Storyline

Bunny is waited upon by the Mardi Gras committee, who tell him he has been elected King of the Festival. He is shown a photograph of his Queen, Lillian. Mrs. Finch, Bunny's wife, suspicions that her spouse has not requested the committee to elect her as his consort, follows John to Lillian's home, where he has gone with the committee, who are insistent that he be immediately presented to his Queen. Wallie, as Lillian's suitor, strenuously objects to her assuming royal honors. The lovers quarrel, and Wallie leaves the house in a rage. Reminiscent of the Mardi Gras at Coney Island
31 March 2018 | by See all my reviews

This reel is reminiscent of the Mardi Gras at Coney Island at the close of the season in September. A tale of domestic trouble has been woven around the scenes of the festivities; it is a story of wife Flora's jealousy, unfounded, be it understood, of Queen Lillian. Husband King John, on one of the mornings after, still all fussed up as he was the day and evening before, is shut out of his home and falls afoul of Tramp Bill Shea, who with the aid of an enormous pistol robs the King of his robes. The king gets the pistol with the cast-off attire, but when he examines it more closely discovers and withdraws a fan from the innocent if murderous looking muzzle. All interested parties meet later in the station house, where matters are straightened out. A good release. - The Moving Picture World, January 17, 1914
