Storyline

The Doctor and Adric are taken prisoner aboard the freighter after they've discovered one of the crewmen dead. Captain Briggs is upset at the delay the disappearance of three crew members has caused but the Doctor denies having anything to do with that. Meanwhile, the Cyber leader activates the Cybermen they've placed in the ship's hold and sets off to take control of the ship. Unbeknown to anyone, a member of the crew is assisting the Cybermen in their quest but the Doctor finds a way to hold them off, at least temporarily. Written by garykmcd

Absolutely terrific episode.

The first thing that stands out about part three, is the direction. Peter Grimwade did a superb job directing this, so many times you watch episodes, such as Day of the Daleks, and see an invasion force of one or two. This was shot, and delivered in such a clever way, that you get the impression that there are numbers of Cybermen.

Every single thing about this one works, it's fast paced, thrilling, action packed, with Tegan on top form. I never particularly like the Cybermen outside of the 1960's episodes, Earthshock was the exception to the rule, and I think Part three was the best of the lot.

The scene of the Cybermen marching along the corridor, is arguably the most iconic shot from 80's Doctor Who.

Love it 10/10
